It’s now over two years since Covid hit Europe in Spring 2020 and travel and holiday plans have been severely impacted in this period.  Throughout this time, we have strived to give you as much reassurance, security and flexibility as possible so you can book your ski holiday with confidence.

Winter 20/21 was the ski season that never happened and Winter 21/22 got off to a rocky start with arrival of the Omicron variant. Thankfully, we managed to get the vast majority of our guests out to the mountains and, where this was simply not possible due to travel restrictions, we re-booked or refunded promptly.

We are all learning to live with Covid and we are positive that we can look forward to a relatively 'normal' Ski Holiday season this coming Winter. Here we cover your most frequently asked questions and will continue to offer as much flexibility as possible with your holiday booking.

What happens if I cannot travel due to COVID-19 travel restrictions?

At the time of travel or in the weeks leading up to departure, if the Foreign & Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) advise against all but essential travel to a country due to cases of COVID-19 or travel restrictions remain in place which prevent you from travelling (lockdown in UK or Austria, borders or ski resorts closed: This does not include testing requirements or additional quarantine), we will offer to re-book, offer a credit note or refund your holiday. We will manage your options in the period leading up to departure and communicate these to you.

All clients booked to travel in March/April 2020, Winter 20/21 (no ski season) and the early part of Winter 21/22 who were unable to travel were promptly offered refunds or re-booking options. The Client Trust Account we operate has been pivotal in being able to quickly and efficiently process refunds.

Is my money safe? Am I 100% financially protected?

Yes, 100%. Snowscape Ltd is a member of The Travel Trust Association (R711X) since 1999 and all clients’ monies are held in a Client Trust Account that offers 100% financial protection. Air holidays provided by us are protected via our ATOL (T7099).

Can I change my booking?

Depending on Hotel and our suppliers, we will remain as flexible as possible up to 8 weeks before travel and are prepared to change dates of travel to a later date where possible. Any flight element of your booking is under the separate terms and conditions of the supplier.

What are the latest travel requirements for Austria & Germany?

There are currently (17/5/22) no entry requirements for Austria. Check the FCDO website for latest travel advice - https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

What is the latest regarding Covid-19 and Travel Insurance?

It is a condition of booking that you and all members of your party have adequate Winter Sports Travel Insurance in place. Most Travel Insurance providers offer specific cover against COVID-19 related cancellation and medical costs (including having to self-isolate overseas). Please check any insurance policy meets your requirements.

Do you provide COVID-19 guidelines for Hotels & Resorts in Austria?

We continually monitor how our Austrian Partners are dealing with COVID and any guidelines will be updated on our website and in your travel information before you travel.

What happens if I am showing symptoms, test positive, have to self-isolate or my area is in local lockdown in the weeks leading up to departure?

If you have to cancel your holiday at this point, we will not be able to offer a refund as we have liabilities with our suppliers. Travel Insurance companies offer cover against this scenario and you should check any policy meets your requirements. We will remain as flexible as possible in this
