What’s NEW? : Winter 2017 / 18
The Summer holiday season is behind us, the ski season is just 3 months away and we are very much looking forward to this coming Winter! The summer months see a great deal of change and investment in the Alps with more lifts and Hotels being built and here are just a few highlights to look forward to this Winter.
The family-run 4* Hotel Grosslehen is adding 6 Luxury Chalets which open this December. Each offers 3 bedrooms with their own Sauna and the Chalets can be booked on a self-catering or catered basis with meals taken at the main Hotel. The Sport Hotel Fontana returns in its original form for this winter and construction has now started on the Vaya Resort Fieberbrunn due to open in 2018.
ST JOHANN IN TIROL
Great news for St Johann in Tirol as Scandinavian owners invest in the ski area with the all-new Eichenhof 10-seater Gondola and new Chairlift above this due to open this December. New to our programme are the 4* Hotels Crystal and Sport Hotel Austria both of which are a short walk to the main lifts.
A brand-new heated 8-seater high-speed chair replaces the 3-man Jufenalm this Winter and will see a dramatic reduction in waiting time for skiers heading up to Steinbergkogel and over to Pengelstein.
ZELL am SEE-KAPRUN
The big project for Zell am See has been the replacement of the Areitbahn which will be replaced by the new AreitXpress opening this December. Capacity and speed will all be improved and we are looking forward to the final connection from Zell am See to Saalbach due to open December 2018 (ZellamSeeXpress). In resort, we have added the Boutique Hotel Two Timez and Alpine Resort next to the Schmittenhoehebahn.
The FIS World Cup Ski Opening takes place on the glacier above Solden 27-29.10.17 and marks the start of the Alpine Race season.
We spent a week at the end of last Winter exploring the Stubai Glacier and riding the all-new 3S Eisgratbahn lift. We now have several new Hotels on offer in the resort village of Neustift including the family-friendly 4* Alpen Hotel Kindl.
