We all have to take our first turns at some point and organising your first winter sports holiday can be daunting. We can advise on the best resorts for your ability, the right hotel for your requirements and arrange lift passes, equipment hire and group or private lessons. And, in our more beginner-orientated resorts, our knowledgeable staff will take you to the hire shop, pick up your lift passes and escort you to the meeting point for your lessons.
Beginner group lessons in Austria generally start Sundays and Mondays and, as a minimum, we would recommend a 3-day course. We can also arrange private instruction at any time and this is the best option if travelling over a weekend. Contact us here about learning to ski or snowboard.
The term Freeride is used across skiing and snowboarding to describe the art of riding natural, un-groomed, off-piste terrain. Essentially, the whole mountain is your playground and advances in ski technology (wider skis) has made this increasingly accessible to all.
Fieberbrunn has some great off-piste and hiring a local guide will ensure you get the best of their local knowledge, access the best snow and have a safe day out with maximum enjoyment. Whether you are planning on venturing off-piste for the first time, want to take your first steps ski-touring or just want to access the hidden spots, we have packages to include guiding, instruction, freeride skis and avalanche safety equipment.

Ski school only for kids? Or maybe, you are looking to lift yourself off that intermediate plateau? One-to-one instruction delivers great results and is offered in hour, 2 hour or full day sessions. Courses are more intensive than in a group lesson and progression is much quicker.
We offer English-speaking private lessons for all levels from beginner through to expert and also speciality courses such as freestyle and freeride. Private instructors can also be organised for small groups: There is a cost for the private instructor plus a nominal amount for each additional person making the overall cost per person great value.

For the best views, and genuine ski from door, why not consider a stay in an Alpine mountain hut? The Wildalpgatterl in Fieberbrunn is located just above the middle station and offers rustic mountain accommodation in double and dormitory style rooms. The restaurant is one of the best on the mountain and has a superb collection of alpine art. Once the lifts close, you’ll enjoy a hearty home-cooked dinner and experience the ambience of staying on the mountain. After breakfast, you’ll be the first on the slopes!
Luggage can be transported by ski-doo from the middle station and the Wildalpgatterl is a wonderful alpine weekend getaway. We can offer shorter stays or you could combine an overnight with a few nights in the main resort.
The Hahnenkamm Downhill ski race is synonymous with Kitzbühel and has proved to the most challenging, most respected and most feared race on the World Cup circuit. Just standing in the start gate or peering over the Mausfalle is enough to strike fear in to the ordinary skier let alone hitting the Streif course at 80 mph!
Taking place on the last weekend in January, the atmosphere on race day is up there with Rugby international meets Formula One Grand Prix. Kitzbühel books out many months in advance for the race weekend so, if you wish to watch the legendary Hahnenkamm, consider staying in Fieberbrunn or St Johann in Tirol and taking the train in to Kitzbühel on race day. Combination train and race tickets are available.
Ballooning Tyrol is based in St Johann in Tirol and offers hot air balloon flights over the Kitzbüheler Alps and the spectacular Wilder Kaiser mountains. Whether for a special occasion or a treat, a peaceful balloon ride over the dramatic snow-covered mountains will be a trip that will have long lasting memories.
Flights can be organised for individuals or small groups with exclusive use if required. Flight durations are from two hours for a local flight with extended 4-5 hour ‘Alps Crossing’ flights south towards Italy also on offer under the right conditions.
